ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Welcome to the National College Sports Photography Association, a platform dedicated to empowering and showcasing the talents of college photographers immersed in the dynamic world of sports. Our organization was founded with a clear vision: to spotlight, teach, encourage, and provide opportunities for budding photographers pursuing a passion for sports photography.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to create a thriving community for college photographers engaged in the sports industry. We are committed to fostering their growth by offering educational resources, encouragement, and avenues for professional development. Our ultimate goal is to expand our reach globally, organizing worldwide contests, workshops, and more to create a network that transcends borders
Founder:
Meet Clay Stark, the visionary behind NCSPA. As a student at Ohio University, Clay is studying photojournalism within The School of Visual Communication. His love for sports dates back to his childhood, when he actively participated in soccer, baseball, basketball, and swim and dive. Transitioning from being an athlete to capturing those unforgettable moments, Clay found his calling in sports photography.
After completing his freshman year in 2022, Clay secured an internship as a photographer for the Columbus Clippers, a Triple-A Minor League Baseball (MiLB) team. His journey continued to unfold, and after his sophomore year in 2023, Clay added another notch on his belt by joining the Cleveland Guardians as a photographer for the Major League Baseball (MLB) team.
"I created this organization because I was always searching for a platform that would help promote young photographers working in sports and guide me towards available opportunities. When you think of photojournalism, sports might not be the first thing that comes to mind; usually, it's news photography. I wanted to establish a place where college students and young enthusiasts could find valuable information to navigate their path in the world of sports photography.” - Clay Stark
